In late 2007, [2N+1] co-founder Vincent Bono signed the lease. "It was a concrete bunker of a place," he says. "But the location and architecture was an ideal for a datacenter." For example, unlike older data centers, [2N+1] can offer up to 400 watts of power per square feet-four times the industry standard. As a result, clients can save money by renting significantly smaller footprints. "With a conventional data center, companies would have to lease enormous units of real estate, often for just a few servers" says Bono. "Computers don't care where they live as long as there's ample, continuous power and plenty of dry cool air. Your IT staff, on the other hand, might care where they work. That's why we've also created ergonomic, safe, and comfortable workspaces and a conference room for visiting IT staff."
